We are committed to increasing educational opportunities for all adults providing courses in cities, towns, villages, workplaces and through community organisations, building our provision around the needs, interests and experiences of adults. We sometimes work with targeted groups including people with mental health issues.
We are looking for a range of sessional tutors with a dynamic and interactive approach to teaching and are currently interested in recruiting tutors with expertise in the following fields:

Geology and General Sciences

Person Description:
You should hold a first degree in a relevant discipline or level 5 subject specification qualification as well as generic teaching qualification (for Skills for Life subjects) or have equivalent professional expertise.
Relevant teaching experience is welcome but not essential: most importantly, you must be interested in teaching post-19 adult learners. WEA fosters an interactive and inclusive approach to teaching.
WEA is a government funded education provider and you must be prepared to do related paperwork and receive some training to teach in the Lifelong Learning sector, to comply with current teaching practice.
Rate of Pay:
£24.81 hourly rate (including paid annual leave element and London weighting)

You will be expected to fill in an application form. We operate a panel of tutors and, if deemed suitable, you will be interviewed for the London Region WEA tutor panel. Being placed in the London region panel does not guarantee any work.
