Poets ans artist like García Lorca, the brothers Machado, Alberti, Miguel Hernández, Neruda, Vallejo, Hemingway, Malraux or Orwell created the world's memory of the conflict. In this course we will study how the Spanish Civil War wasn’t only a local conflict. It was a war of ideas in which the conflict between the aspiration to freedom and winning war decided not only the Spanish fate but also the world’ destiny.
