Finchley & Golders Green
Introduction to branch
Finchley and Golders Green branches were founded during World War Two, and have been active ever since. At present they are operating as a combined branch. Classes are held in local church halls and at a synagogue. All are well served by public transport. The classes at St. Mary`s Church Hall are within easy walking distance of Finchley Central Tube Station and several bus routes; those at Finchley Progressive Synagogue, N 12 are near several bus routes, and the classes in Golders Green are near Golders Green Tube and Bus Station. The programme consists mainly of subjects long regarded as central to WEA teaching - literature, drama, history and history of art.
We also have a longstanding class on buildings, currently the building of London, and another on geology. New subjects are regularly considered.
The branch operates a coach outing in the May/June period to places of general interest, such as country houses and estates, art galleries and museums outside London.
The WEA is committed to promoting equality and diversity. All are Welcome.
